Passage to India
“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness.” Mark Twain
Last night, as I excitedly watched Slumdog Millionaire win Best Picture at the Oscars, my heart danced back to India. In January, our family traveled to India to visit Andrew's youngest sister, who is living there for a year.
My first impression of India was the smell. Strong scents embrace you; India assails and inspires your senses. The feeling is visceral, internal and is very hard to articulate. The only thing I can say is: you MUST go!
Hopefully, this slideshow will give you a glimpse of Incredible India!

Melissa and I were both ecstatic that Slumdog Millionaire won so many awards. It was by far my favorite movie of the year. Thank you for sharing your memories with us. The photos from India were breathtaking.
Fascinating work, amazing moments, beautiful people. Thanks for sharing guys. :-)

What are the crops growing on hills near the beginning of the show?
Beautiful and moving images! I've been telling Liana for months now that I want to go to India. Perhaps we'll make that happen soon. First, we must go see 'Slumdog Millionaire'!
Thank you for sharing!
Great quote.
An observation I have from my short time on the planet is that the people I know who have traveled extensively have a much different sense of the world and nuanced opinions about things. They don't talk about good and evil or in absolutes.
And Slumdog Millionaire brings me to the verge of tears every time I think about it. Even though the story is fun and is supposed to be uplifting, I can't shake the images of abject poverty. Seeing that kind of thing in person, which I have, will not only change your politics -- it is life-altering.
Thanks for taking me to India. I am in love with everything about that slideshow. (but not as much as im in love with the two of you ;) )
Hey Greg,

Could you please tell me which soundtrack runs in the background?
You guys make me so happy.
You guys are such thoughtful photographers. I really admire that.
Inspiring images. Thanks for sharing.
I love the pictures of Kerala! That's where my parents grew up. The contrasts in India are quite amazing and your pictures gave me a wonderful flashback to our trip to india in 2007.
These images are just wonderful. So lively, colorful so filled with emotion that I feel I am there, watching, hearing and smelling...
It is very nice to see such heartfelt images of a place that I very much would like to go to very soon.
Thanks for sharing.
